Gilgit - Getting to
Pakistan International Airlines daily morning flights operate between Islamabad and Gilgit. Its important to check with PIA before leaving for the airport, as flights are cancelled if there is a fog.
Pilots fly this route on mere sight as no computer navigation exists, so the flight only goes on clear days. Its a scenic flight and one can see the Mountain ranges as the plane fly lower than some of the peaks. The air journey is one of the highlights of the trip.
