Pakistan is situated in South Asia at 30 degrees 00' N and 70 degrees 00' E covering around 800,000 square km., and home to more than 190 million people. With China on the north west, Afghanistan and Iran on the West, India to the east, it nestles on top of the Arabian sea and the Indian ocean with a large beautiful coastline.

The northern areas of Pakistan comprise of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Gilgit Baltistan regions, with the Himalayas and the Karakoram range and K2, the second highest mountain in the world.

The area thats makes up of Pakistan has an old history dating back to the Bronze Age and was once the home of the great Indus Valley Civilization.

It was later ruled by the Hindus, the Greeks, Muslims, Mongols, Afghan and the Sikhs. In the end it under the British Empire till its independence in 1947 when it became a sovereign Muslim state.

The independence was due to a long struggle and hard work of its founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other prominent muslim leaders of that time like Dr. Allama Iqbal.
